DRÄGER

Technology for Life®.
Drager manufactures medical and safety technology products. In doing so, they protect, support, and save people's lives around the world in hospitals, with fire departments, emergency services, authorities, and in mining as well as industry. Before you can save the lives of others, you must first protect yourself with firefighting equipment that gives you the confidence to concentrate on the task at hand – regardless of your mission.

SCBAs
The self-contained breathing apparatus, or SCBA, is the foundational tool that provides the greatest amount of airway protection from toxic gas and harmful particulates resulting from fire. It’s essential for modern firefighting. As the inventor of the modern-day SCBAs specifically for firefighters, the Drager SCBA provides the most robust breathing protection combined with unparalleled ergonomic comfort.

Portable Gas Detection
Firefighters wear an SCBA when smoke is visible, but what other dangers lurk in the air? Understanding that on today’s complex fire grounds requires the right tools. Drager offers a comprehensive, wide range of portable gas detection products. The Drager Pac series includes disposable and rechargeable handheld single or dual-gas options. For more robust gas detection, the Drager X-am series offers multi-gas detection, including the seven-gas X-am 8000. Finally, Drager Tubes remain the standard for a wide range of gas and vapor detection.

Air-Purified Respirators
The best airway protection on the fire ground is an SCBA. For optimum protection, all personnel on the fire ground should be provided with an SCBA. In those circumstances where an SCBA may not be an option or for personnel working in the warm or cold zones, consider air-purified respirators to protect against the long-term damage of the particulates in smoke. Drager breathing specialists can help a Fire Department to determine which options might be the best fit including power air-purifying respirators (PAPR) and filtered masks that block more than 99.9 percent of particulates or disposable masks that prevent 95 percent of harmful particulates from reaching the vulnerable membranes in airways of the nose and mouth.

Fire Training Systems
When responding to a fire, the experience and skills learned during training can save lives. High-quality training is critically important today as fires are hotter and faster than ever before. Drager offers a wide range of Fire Training Systems that fit almost any department's budget. Drager’s container-based Class A burn structures include a comprehensive train-the-trainer course with qualified, experienced instructors.
